I selected this article because it demonstrates how the Wikispace can be used to facilitate the learning of a second language for students in Hong Kong. I have a particular interest in this article because I would like to work with ESL students. This is an interested method to employ in an ESL classroom and I believe that it has several excellent suggestions as to how students benefit from this technology.

The article defines cyber bullying as being abuse of others using digital tools, ranging from online bullying to harassing messages being sent via a cell phone or instant messaging program. This is an important issue for educators to be aware of when integrating technology into their classroom as victims often feel helpless and trapped. Technology also provides a way for the instigator of the bullying to remain anonymous which often makes it difficult to punish or track the responsible party.
This article urges schools adopt a severe online policy outlining the school's policy for use of technology. The author emphasizes that the internet should be used as an instructional tool not as a personal access system and that students know that using technology is a privilege. This policy should also outline the school's role in tracking student's use of online resources and that they should be required to provide both supervision and monitoring of what students are accessing online while using school computers. According to this author there should be well defined consequences for not abiding by technology usage policies. In addition to this when it is suspected that a student is being bullied online there should be specific protocol to follow in order to ensure that bullied student is provided the adequate and required assistance.
